The Week Before

Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment. Well-hydrated skin holds ink better, making the tattoo process smoother and the colours more vibrant. Aim for at least 2 litres a day.

Moisturise the Area

Apply a fragrance-free moisturiser to the tattoo area daily for at least a week before your session. This keeps your skin supple and in the best condition to receive ink. Avoid heavily perfumed lotions.

Avoid Sun Exposure

Do not sunbathe or use sunbeds on the area to be tattooed. Sunburnt, peeling or tanned skin cannot be tattooed safely — it increases pain, reduces ink retention, and raises the risk of complications. If your skin is burnt, your appointment will need to be rescheduled.

No Blood Thinners

Avoid aspirin and ibuprofen for at least 48 hours before your appointment, as they thin the blood and can cause excessive bleeding during the session. Paracetamol is fine if needed. If you take prescribed blood-thinning medication, please let Sina know in advance.

The Night Before

Get a Good Night's Sleep

Being well-rested makes a huge difference to your pain tolerance and overall comfort during the session. Aim for 7–8 hours of sleep. Your body handles the tattoo process much better when you're not fatigued.

Avoid Alcohol

Do not drink alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment. Alcohol thins the blood, which leads to increased bleeding, poorer ink retention and a longer healing time. It can also lower your pain threshold and affect your judgement.

Shave the Area (Optional)

If the tattoo area has hair, you're welcome to shave it the night before. However, Sina will always prepare the area on the day, so don't worry if you'd prefer to leave it — it's entirely optional.

On the Day

Eat a Proper Meal

Have a substantial, balanced meal before your appointment. Low blood sugar can make you feel lightheaded, dizzy or nauseous during the session. Opt for slow-release energy foods like wholemeal toast, porridge, pasta or rice with protein.

Bring Snacks & Water

For longer sessions, bring snacks (cereal bars, fruit, chocolate) and a bottle of water. A sugary drink can help if you start to feel faint. Sina is happy to take breaks whenever you need them.

Wear Comfortable Clothing

Choose loose, comfortable clothes that allow easy access to the tattoo area. Dark colours are a good idea in case of any ink transfer. Think about what you'll be wearing for 2–6 hours in a relaxed setting.

Arrive Clean & Fresh

Shower before your appointment and make sure the tattoo area is clean and free from lotions, oils or fake tan. Avoid applying deodorant or perfume directly on the area to be tattooed.

Bring Entertainment

The studio is private and relaxed — it's just you and Sina. Feel free to bring headphones, music or a podcast. Make yourself comfortable!

What to Expect When You Arrive

When you arrive at the studio, Sina will:

  1. Walk you through the final design and make any last adjustments
  2. Discuss placement, sizing and positioning on your body
  3. Apply a stencil so you can see exactly how it will look before any ink touches skin
  4. Prepare the area (clean, shave if needed) using clinical-grade products
  5. Begin tattooing at a comfortable pace, with breaks whenever you need them

The studio operates under strict hygiene standards in line with local authority regulations. All equipment is either single-use, coverable or autoclave-sterilised, and the workspace is thoroughly cleaned between every client.

Important Notes

If You're Feeling Unwell

If you're ill on the day of your appointment — especially with a cold, flu, infection or fever — please contact Sina to reschedule. Tattooing when your immune system is compromised slows healing and increases the risk of complications.

Medical Conditions

Please inform Sina in advance if you have any medical conditions, allergies, or are taking medication that may affect the tattoo process. This includes diabetes, epilepsy, skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis), heart conditions, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Age Requirement

In accordance with UK law, you must be 18 or over to get a tattoo. Valid photo ID (passport, driving licence) is required at your appointment.
